On 21 April 2017 the FIFA Disciplinary Committee issued a decision on case of FC Atyrau (Kazakhstan) against its ex head coach Mr. Zoran Filipovich, following which 6, deducted earlier, points were reintegrated to the first team of the club.

The Coach insisted that the Club does not fulfill the FIFA PSC Decision, as a result on 1 March 2017 6 points were deducted by the FIFA from the Club.

FC Atyrau turned to FIFA and CAS with the aim to be reintegrated points. The Club succeeded to persuade  the FIFA on bad faith of the coach and FIFA reiterated 6 points.

The interests of FC Atyrau were represented by lawyers of international company SILA.

On 7 April 2017 the Court of Arbitration for Sports issued a decision in case between football player Serdyukov and FC Tyumen.

To remind, the case started in October 2013, when following the results of 2012-2013 sporting season FC Tyumen was promoted to the Football National League, and denied the group of player who left the club to pay the promotional bonus.

In April 2016 the Club got a decision of the ordinary court, according to which the Club’s administrator was denied in payment of promotional bonus. The Decision of Kalininsky district court of the Tyumen city has lied down as a grounds for reconsideration of all the cases, won by the players in RFU earlier. In June 2016, RFU in short terms cancelled decisions in favor of 8 players and 3 coaches with a link to the ordinary court decision and lifted the ban on registering new players form the club.

The Player submitted the appeal on RFU Players Status Committee decision to the CAS. As a result the CAS ruled that cancellation of the football association decisions based on ordinary court decision is unlawful. The CAS annulled unjustified decision of RFU and obliged FC Tyumen to pay the promotional bonus.

This Tuesday, 25 April 2017, the RFU Disciplinary Committee will consider the issue, and in case no fulfilment of the CAS decision will be made by the Club, the FC Tyumen will be deducted 6 points from it’s a team in the FNL Championship.

The Players in all the instances are represented by lawyers of international law company SILA.

SILA is taking part in education of managers in sports

Following the course in RMA business-school for managers in sports, the head of sports law department Darina Nikitina is giving lectures dedicated to questions of international and national regulation of sport.

In terms of a course the students are acquainted with latest case law  of SILA and landmark jurisprudence of FIFA and CAS.

Nearest classes of the specialist will take place in April.

Together we are SILA

As of February 1, 2017, Legal Sport (Moscow, Russia) – the leader of the Russian sports law market – and Gradev Sports (Sofia, Bulgaria) headed up by Georgy Gradev – one of the strongest sports lawyers in Europe – are joining forces to work under a single brand «SILA International Lawyers». The decision to merge was made after many years of successful cooperation between the two companies.

The unified company will have a new website at silalawyers.com and a new logo. All cases and procedures previously handled by Legal Sport and Gradev Sports, will from now on be handled by SILA. The new company’s management will be carried out by three partners – Georgy Gradev, Mikhail Prokopets and Yury Zaytsev.
Unlike their predecessors, SILA will provide legal services on a wide range of issues, not limited to sports law only. In particular, the company has a new legal practice with experts working in areas such as contractual, criminal, corporate, administrative, urban planning and energy law. The new practice is headed up by a renowned lawyer Ekaterina Yakovleva.
