FIFPRO considered the first part of applications for financial grants in connection with the bankruptcy of football clubs
FIFPRO has considered the first part of football players’ applications for financial grants from the FIFA Fund for Football Players (FIFA FFP), which aims to provide financial support to football players who cannot receive outstanding salaries from football clubs, for example, due to their bankruptcy. FIFPRO’s decisions were made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the specific circumstances of each case.
At the moment, SILA International Lawyers has received 29 positive decisions on applications submitted on behalf of its clients, which is more than 40% of the total amount of satisfied applications submitted from Russia (67).
It is expected in the near future to receive several more decisions on applications submitted within the second stage, with a considerable number of SILA International Lawyers clients’ applications as well.
SILA International Lawyers is ready to provide assistance in lodging applications to FIFPRO to all football players who face non-payment of outstanding salaries caused by the bankruptcy or disaffiliation of a football club.
