6-th edition of International Association of Football Lawyers (AIAF) Annual Congress

Georgi Gradev, Mikhail Prokopets and Yury Zaytsev, partners of the law firm SILA International Lawyers, participated in the 6 th edition of International Association of Football Lawyers (AIAF) Annual Congress «Footballers’ contracts – Making them and Breaking them» that took place on 18-19 September in Lausanne, Switzerland at the Olympic Museum.Participants of the event discussed various relevant issues, such as footballers’ contract terms, pre-contracts and precontractual obligations, TPO/TPI contracts, buy-out clauses, justifications for breach of contracts and FIFA and CAS case law regarding these issues. Around 200 football lawyers from all over the world took part in this Congress.

Partners of SILA International Lawyers also participated in the 7 th edition of the major Conference dedicated to International Sports Arbitration that was held on 21-22 September at the hotel Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Conference was organized by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Swiss Bar Association (SAV/FSA). Some of the most pressing issues of CAS were discussed at the Conference, including efficiency of the CAS organization, challenge of arbitrators, resolution of disputes regarding doping, TPO contracts,
gender discrimination and football disputes. About 500 sports lawyers and CAS arbitrators from all over the world took part in this Conference.
