RESULTS OF 2023

Dear friends!
It is time to sum up the year, and we are happy to share with you the results of our work for 2023.
This year, as always, the company’s lawyers accompanied the most high-profile signings of football players and coaches at the national and international level. We are fortunate to provide legal support to more than 30 transfers in the strongest football Championships, including Russia, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and even the United States.

The main profile of SILA’s work in 2023 was, of course, representing the interests of clients in resolving sports disputes in CAS, the jurisdictional bodies of FIFA, the RFU and other national football associations, the NCSA and even the RAF Court of Appeal.

Among the most high-profile cases, we note the victories in the proceedings of match agent Evgeny Marinov, football players Plamen Ivanov Iliev, Besard Sabovich, Mateus Henrique de Paul, Alexander Merkel, as well as football clubs Rubin, Spartak (Latvia), PFC CSKA, Al Arabi (Kuwait), “Sabah” and “Slovan Bratislava”.

SILA employees have successfully supported athletes in numerous RUSADA and WADA anti-doping trials.
We once again congratulate our clients who have achieved the highest results with our modest participation as permanent consultants: FC Chernomorets (Novorossiysk) became the winner of the Second Russian Football League of the 2022/2023 season, the YADRO Motorsport team won the personal and team standings of the RAF Cup of the GT4 Russia scoring group within the framework of the SMP Russian Series of Circuit Races, and the football players of FC Akron (Tolyatti) became the heroes of the Russian Football Cup of the 2022/2023 season, consistently knocking out four RPL football clubs and losing only in a penalty shootout in the final of the Way of the Regions.

The company’s achievements in 2023 were noted by many reputable publications and media. SILA International Lawyers employees received 9 nominations in the Rating of lawyers and their companies from Rossiyskaya Gazeta, SILA International Lawyers was included in the rating of Russia’s leading law firms from Pravo-300, the company’s partners Mikhail Prokopets and Yuri Zaitsev were included in the list of the “30 most influential people of Russian football” according to the edition “Sport-Express”, partner of the Spanish office Ivan Bykovsky was included in the list of recommended sports lawyers in Spain according to Lexology – “Who is Who Legal”.

New appointments of the company’s partners should also be noted: SILA Sofia partner Georgi Gradev became a member and secretary of the Provisional Committee of the Bulgarian Chess Federation, and Askar Urankhaev, a partner of SILA Central Asia, became a member of the Executive Committee of the Kazakhstan Football Federation.

According to an established tradition, SILA took part in educational projects – the company’s lawyers gave an author’s course of lectures as part of the regular recruitment to the Football Agent School, acted as invited speakers for students of the HSE, RMA and the Rugby Center Academy, five SILA lawyers immediately took part in the NCSA model as moot arbitrators, and, of course, in partnership with the Football Association of Uzbekistan, SILA International Lawyers organized a large-scale seminar on Sports Law “Law and Sport 2023”, in which highly qualified specialists from all over the world made presentations.

The “SILA Prava” podcast continued to cover the most high-profile sports news, published an interview with the executive director of FC Dynamo Moscow Ilya Kedrin, and also released interesting thematic special issues dedicated to Halloween and the release of the third season of the TV series Ted Lasso.
