CAS victory for SILA International Lawyers

In CAS 2025/A/11337 Maccabi Bnei Reineh v. Anicet Andrianantenaina, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that the Israeli club terminated the player’s employment contract without just cause.

CAS upheld the validity of the automatic contract extension triggered by the club avoiding relegation. The Sole Arbitrator found that the club acted in bad faith by refusing to honor the extension, excluding the player from team activities, and attempting to deprive him of his contractual rights.

CAS rejected the club’s principal arguments and confirmed its liability to pay outstanding remuneration and compensation for breach of contract.

SILA International Lawyers proudly represented Anicet Andrianantenaina throughout the CAS proceedings.
