Press release of the Seminar on sports law

Legal Sport Company held the seminar for professional lawyers on the 25th April in Moscow.

The seminar was dedicated to two important topics for modern football – Disciplinary offences and discrimination in football. In the seminar particapated more then 50 lawyers from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries of CIS. The seminar was held with a support of Russian Football Premier League, Football National League, ‘Sports law’ magazine and international assosiation of sport lawyers ‘SILA’.

With a greeting speech to seminar participants stood out president of Russian Football Premier League Segrey Pryadkin, executive director of Football National League Ivan Shabanov and president of Pro Sports Management Company German Tkachenko.

The Counselor at legal issues of Russian Football Union President Denis Rogachev told about possible in the nearest future and already perfomed amendments to RFU Regulations for the forthcoming season, particulary about amendments to limit of legionaries and salary cap in FNL.

The Deputy CEO – Executive director FC Zenit Pavel Pivovarov told about realiztaion of principle of strict liability in Regulations of FIFA, UEFA and RFU and also about the CAS jurisprudence regarding cases with realization of principle of strict liability.

The Partner of ‘Legal Sport’ Company Yury Zaitsev presented to the seminar participants the review of Control Disciplinary Committee jurisprudence regarding lendmark cases and CDC Chairman Artur Grigorianc commented some CDC decisions and answered on participants questions.

The CEO of the Russian Union of the Football Players Alexaner Zotov made a report regarding cases of Dispute Resolution Chamber of RFU about discrimination in employment relations.

The Partner of ‘Legal Sport’ Mikhail Prokopets made a presentation devoted to discrimination of football players in case of establishment limit at legionaries and analysed the case about discrimination «CAS 2012/A/2852 «S.C.S. Fotbal Club CRF 1907 S.A. Manuel Ferreira and Mario Jorge versus Romania Football Federation».

At the end of the seminar the Head of Legal Department FC Zenit Oleg Zadubrovsky told about determining of football nationality in FIFA Regulations and share his experience of application of Yury Lodygin for status of domestic player who played for Greece national team in friendly matches.
